AHF Products has an exciting career opportunity for an Associate Product Manager with strong project management skills and business acumen to execute key product initiatives within our wood flooring portfolio. Based in Somerset, KY, you will be responsible for driving the new product development process, analyzing competitor products, and executing operating and project plans to differentiate our products from those of the competition. The Associate Product Manager manages the new product development process to ensure products are developed on time and within budgetary goals.  This includes leading project management and production activities to ensure the products are successfully launched and differentiated from our competition.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Establish detailed work plan and align project team to key tasks and due dates
  • Monitor project schedule and deliverables, managing risk and exceptions as needed
  • Develop product specifications utilizing voice of customer input.
  • Work with the sales and manufacturing teams to obtain and analyze competitive and market research and making product recommendations based on this information. 
  • Evaluate requests for product changes and enhancements and making decisions on such requests.
  • Work with the Marketing team to develop strategies and tactics for the successful marketing of products, including new product launches and re-positioning of current products.
  • Conduct product training for external and internal customers. 
  • Build and leveraging relationships with end users, distributors and retailers to drive desired business outcomes.
  • Assist with the preparation of business plans
  • Assist with the preparation of customer presentations
  • Meet w/ customers

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing, or similar discipline.  
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management in a product launch, product planning, or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively function and influence others in a highly matrix organization.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Excellent analytical skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with new product development (NPD), pricing, and promotions.
  • Experience conducting market research and analyzing competitor products.
  • Knowledge of wood flooring products and/or wood manufacturing

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job. Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions and plant locations. There will be a standard level of noise common to an office environment including office equipment and co-workers speaking to each other and on phones. While out ion the plants there will be noise associated with a manufacturing facility. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment when entering the floor of manufacturing facilities based on the specific requirements of each location.

About the Location (Somerset, KY):

Our Somerset, Kentucky facility sits on 80 acres of land with 271,000 sq. ft under roof. The facility employs approximately 340 people working multiple shifts to manufacture engineered wood flooring products.
