WORK

 

This position is responsible for manufacturing equipment/system design and fabrication.  Support is provided during plant installation, training, and troubleshooting activities.  This position has direct responsibility to provide robust and safe equipment/system designs, including appropriate documentation, that meet performance and schedule requirements.  This position is located in our Global Engineering and R&D organization and reports to the Senior Manager of Engineering Support.

 

Who you’ll be working with:

  • Report to Sr. Manager of Engineering Support
  • Engineer teams in all of our manufacturing locations

 

How you’ll contribute to the team:

  • Performs advanced engineering design computations and reviews results with internal and external customers
  • Applies working knowledge of materials and components
  • Prepares conceptual design layouts
  • Designs equipment and systems for reliability and ease of maintenance
  • Prepares purchase requisitions and performs goods receipt (SAP)
  • Prepares drawing packages to support engineering specifications
  • Recommends best value fabricators
  • Ensures adherence to applicable codes and standards within discipline
  • Participates in pre-appropriation meetings to determine project requirements
  • Translates design requirements into specific design configurations
  • Participates in the development of engineering design and process standards
  • Ensures designs are properly recorded and archived
  • Approves engineering drawings and documentation for fabrication and installation issuance
  • Adheres to production policies and practices
  • Facilitates conducting equipment and customer acceptance tests
  • Ensures implementation of safety principles
  • Diagnoses operating problems and resolves process and equipment issues
  • Provides equipment and process problem solving support
  • Participating in Lean efforts such as Kaizen Events
  • Travel to our plants throughout the U.S. is required, and will vary from single day to multiple week trips.  International travel may be required

 

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree, Electrical Engineering degree; Bachelor's required
  • Project management skills, including the ability to define problems, lead teams, prioritize tasks, and deliver results

 

We’ll be excited if you have:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with the application of Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing methodologies, Statistical Process Control and Team Facilitation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project                      
  • AutoCAD experience

Mechanical Engineer Salary: $67,000 - $92,000 based on experience
