WORK

 

Armstrong Flooring, Inc. (AFI), has an opportunity for a Senior Accounting Analyst located in Lancaster, PA.  As a member of our Operational Accounting team, the Senior Accounting Analyst will be responsible for all Sales, General, & Administration (SG&A) accounting including supporting standard reporting, budgeting & forecasting, and compliance & internal control while working closely with other corporate departments and business unit segments.  Initial focus will be on advertising and promotional accounting for samples, merchandising, and displays as well as administering the sales incentive programs for North America.  The Senior Accounting Analyst will also help support revenue accounting for all components of sales from gross to net.

 

What you'll be doing:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

 

  • Recommend, develop, and implement changes to continually improve processes and effectiveness of the Finance and Accounting Operations team
  • Provide accounting oversight and guidance for all North American SG&A related transactional accounting activities including, but not limited to:
  • Accounting for samples, merchandising, and displays in SAP, including building standards, prepaid expenses, no charge shipments, and obsolescence
  • Calculate, administer proper accounting, and submit payments for Sales Incentive Programs for US and Canada
  • Support business initiatives and accounting guidance changes through project work
  • Accounting closing activities, including reconciliation of general ledger and sub ledger accounts
  • Communication with colleagues at various locations or corporate departments to resolve issues and closing discrepancies, including root cause analysis and updating of all supporting documentation (desktop procedures, workflows, checklists, policies, internal controls, etc.)
  • SOX compliance and audit reviews, including coordination with internal and external auditors
  • Performance of all activities in a timely, relevant, and accurate manner to meet internal customer expectations
  • Confirm and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies and procedures
  • Provide support for gross to net revenue accounting as needed:
    •  Responsible for intercompany trading prices and customer discounts
    • Act as backup for ASC 606 revenue recognition related accounting such as reserves for customer claims, returns, and rebates

 

Travel:

  • Occasional travel for inventory audits, conferences, vendor meetings or similar activities may be required (<10%)

 

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related function
  • Seven years of related experience in various financial roles, with three years accounting experience in SG&A and/or revenue accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • SAP or similar ERP experience
