Armstrong Flooring, Inc. has a job opportunity for a Benefits Representative to be located at our Corporate Headquarters in Lancaster, PA. Reporting to the Benefits Manager, the Benefits Representative will perform a variety of administrative functions to support assigned benefits programs, such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement and leaves of absence.


What you'll be doing:

  • Accurately respond to benefit inquiries ensuring equitable and courteous resolution.
  • Responsible for the completion and accuracy of benefits enrollments in the HRIS. Manage benefits data using related HR systems, run queries and perform regular audits on data.
  • Maintain vendor contact to investigate discrepancies and provide information to ensure compliance and accuracy on the usage of benefit programs.
  • Guide and educate plan participants on related health and welfare plan issues/resources (e.g. new hire process, plan rules and applicable regulations, enrollment/coverage issues, family status changes, insurance carrier claims/service issues; premium deduction discrepancies, COBRA and other post-employment and retirement benefits; etc.)
  • Support pension and/or 401k plan administrative processes, including individual pension calculations.
  • Initiate/facilitate STD/LTD claims working with the employee, the disability carrier, and the employee’s department.
  • Assist in the design, development and implementation of employee communications, educational efforts, benefit enrollment events, and management of electronic information.
  • Communicate as appropriate with internal departments, employee, client and vendors to avoid gaps in process.
  • Perform annual open enrollment process, training, support, communications, reporting, etc.
  • Review monthly benefit invoices for accuracy.
  • Perform COBRA administration.
  • Support phone line coverage and workflow creation in Service Now.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


What you'll bring to the table:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in HR or Business Administration
  • Demonstrated understanding of the basics of HR administration including employee master data, life events, benefits, HR policies and procedures, compensation, organization structure, employment law, and the impact of data on the payroll process.
  • Familiar with state & federal employment laws including ACA,ADA,COBRA, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA and other laws.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Strong Excel skills.
  • Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task with awareness of priorities.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.


We'll be excited if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • 1-2 years of related experience in benefits administration
  • Experience working in an integrated enterprise application
  • Bilingual – Spanish
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience working in a multi-site global manufacturing organization
  • CEBS and/or CBP
