Our Human Resources team is responsible for partnering with the business to help solve complex organizational challenges, while ensuring we have the right people in the right roles, helping us drive results and grow our business. We are currently seeking a hands-on strategic HR Business Partner / Talent Acquisition & Development Manager to join our newly formed team to focus on all areas of Talent Management for the company and also provide generalist support to the corporate functions.  This will be a unique and exciting opportunity to create, direct and lead all programs relevant to talent acquisition, talent engagement, talent retention, and talent development.  Additionally, this role will partner closely with Senior Leaders at our Corporate Headquarters to provide HRBP support to their teams.  This position will have 2-4 staff direct reports and will report directly to the VP, Human Resources.

 

HR Generalist Duties and Responsibilities:       

  • Provides HR generalist support to the staff functions including Legal, Finance, Information Technology, & Sales. These responsibilities will span all human resources generalist functions including Compensation and Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Workforce & Succession Planning, Organizational Effectiveness and HR Operations. 
  • Provides consultation and input/support to client groups pertaining to people-related programs and initiatives to ensure achievement of business objectives.
  • Keeps informed of matters affecting employee morale; develops and recommends programs to foster positive employee engagement and positive two way communication between employees and management.
  • Provides counsel to employees on a wide range of HR-related concerns, including company programs and policies.
  • Leads succession planning, turnover management, compensation planning and design, and performance management processes for assigned client groups. 
  • Promotes and participates in process improvement and change initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with all EEOC, AAP, and ADA requirements and applicable employment laws, regulations, and policies.

 

Talent Acquisition Duties and Responsibilities:       

  • Develops and executes effective talent acquisition and sourcing strategies to ensure excellence in attraction of candidates, supporting the talent needs for overall organization.
  • Manages the recruitment function and budget including spend across various technologies and oversight of the negotiation and management of recruitment related vendors.
  • Drives best practices in online recruitment including passive sourcing, social media utilization, and targeted messaging.  Manages employer branding and recruitment marketing efforts in collaboration with the marketing department.
  • Acts as overall owner for the ATS module of the HCM system, evaluating systems-related efficiencies, data accuracy and ensuring a fully compliant recruitment process.
  • Leads select senior level/executive searches (Director and above) including sourcing, vendor management, interviewing and offer management.
  • Works closely with plant HR resources to ensure plant-level recruiting processes are effective and compliant with labor laws and policies.
  • Remains current on changes in the labor market and employment laws; ensure hiring standards and practices adhere to all laws and regulations.
  • Manages and improves recruitment processes to drive strong performance in the areas of cost-of-hire, time to fill, aged requisition reduction, candidate and hiring manager satisfaction, diversity hiring and sourcing optimization.
  • Leads internal communication and training to drive talent acquisition best practices, facilitates hiring manager ownership and participation, and ensures the candidate experience is best-in-class.

 

Talent Development Duties and Responsibilities:       

  • Develops and executes the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s talent development strategies including those associated with succession planning, talent engagement and retention, career path/progression, functional competencies and training initiatives to support business objectives and increase employee and organization capabilities.
  • Manages the talent development budget including spend for LMS solutions, training programs and engagement initiatives. 
  • Manages the review and selection of all external L&D program partners, resources & processes.
  • Responsible for all performance management and goal setting processes including design, delivery, analysis, communications and annual process improvement recommendations.
  • Responsible for the design, development, implementation, communication and ongoing improvement of all career path and progression initiatives
  • Leads efforts to ensure proper management and ongoing effectiveness of the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Monitors and tracks the effectiveness and value of all L&D programs, processes and systems
  • Supports the delivery of ad-hoc projects throughout the year which will include research, analysis and the development of recommendations.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing organization.
  • Prior experience leading talent development, management and engagement initiatives within a corporate setting.
  • Proven track record of success developing and executing effective talent attraction strategies and recruiting top-caliber talent for senior level positions.
  • Working knowledge of relevant State and Federal laws related to HR policies and practices.
  • Experience leading and managing significant organizational change, organizational development and/or organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle high volumes of work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while maintaining excellent delivery and quality performance.
  • Proven success working across organizational lines and at multiple levels and who can achieve business objectives through personal initiative and energy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities with a strong attention to detail, combined with a strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, individually and in teams.
  • Proven oral and written communications skills to convey information clearly and effectively. Solid listening skills to gather information for understanding.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources, determine issues and objectives, and develop strategies to address needs.
  • Strong integration skills. Able to drive all parts of the organization to consensus.
  • Ability to pivot focus effectively in response to business needs.
  • Experience managing complex employee/labor relations situations.
  • History of effectively coaching across levels and functions, including individuals in more senior roles than oneself.
  • Project management and business acumen skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • PHR/SPHR certification.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies to increase value to customers through elimination of non-value added work.
  • Experience working in both union and non-union environments.
