Electrically maintain the plant and its facilities in a safe manner.  Be actively involved in the continuous improvement of the plant processes and equipment.

 

Electrical associates will work in skill areas such as electronics, refrigeration, instrumentation, electrical, etc.  Other activities and duties expected of electrical associates are planning and scheduling of work; preventive and predictive maintenance practices; installation of equipment; communications; documentation; shop and job site housekeeping.

 

The plant will be divided into areas.  Individuals will be assigned to these areas to perform the above mentioned work.  Aras and assignments will be decided upon by the electrical team and the maintenance coordinator.  To enhance knowledge of plant machinery and equipment, area rotation will be determined by the team and coordinator.  The electrical team will meet regularly to review performance, direction, and to plan activities for continuous improvement.  Electrical associates are expected to communicate with other plant associates to identify problems, initiate corrective action, and advise on issuing work orders.  Individuals will work with maintenance department associates and plant associates to prioritize and schedule work.  Each individual is responsible for maintaining proper documentation.Relieve other Electricians during absences

 

Knowledge, Skills & Education

 

  • High School Diploma or equivelant
  • 3 years or more of revelant work experience
  • Install, test, maintain, repair and adjust various items of electrical and electronic equipment, and all types of machinery and equipment
  • Responsible for complex and basic electrical repairs and basic mechanical repairs
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and pneumatic components, systems, instrumentation, and controls
  • Use precision measuring instruments
  • Set up and operate electric and compressed air tools and welding and cutting tools as required
  • Read and work from complicated blueprints, wiring diagrams, sketches, and/or verbal instructions
  • Inspect electronic and electrical equipment and instruments
  • Install conduit and steel mountings
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and Fire Underwriters Regulations
  • Knowledge of PLC, programming, troubleshooting, and other computer work
  • Maintain up to date PLC documentation, electrical drawings for plant
  • Coordinate the installation of and startup of new equipment. 

 

This position requires advanced electrical systems understanding and experience programming and troubleshooting in systems such as PLC based systems, Allen Bradley AC/DC drive system programming, Servo drive system programming, servo registration system programming, Advanced PLC programming techniques, panelview programming, wonderware (MMI) programming as well as being capable of working within the Microsoft Windows environment on a personal computer. Train associates on the maintenance and safe operation of assigned machinery.  Perform miscellaneous duties as required or requested. Supervised by Maintenance Manager.
